There are many smart phones available in the Indian market today. Companies are fiercely competing to display the best devices that will capture as many Smartphone users in India, as possible. Sony Ericsson, one of the biggest mobile manufacturing corporations in the world, is a major player in the Smartphone industry in India.

Xperia Mini Pro

The company recently launched the Xperia Mini Pro in August 2011 and it definitely is a smartphone with a difference. The Mini Pro is a successor to the Xperia X10 Mini Pro and has similar features, with just a few upgrades that guarantee users maximum utilization of the device.

The device is less technical when compared to other smart phones in the market. However, it still maintains a highly functional design, which is characteristic of the series of smartphones manufactured by Sony Ericsson. This explains why the model has received much accolade and interest from the Indian consumer.

Like other versions of the Xperia, the Mini Pro has a slide-out QWERTY keypad even though users have the option of navigating the phone using the touch screen interface. All the keys feature a luminous back light and the keypad is designed to ensure that the user maintains a firm grip while using the device. Perhaps the most attractive aspect of this phone is its ultra slim outfit. The device is just 136g and it feels extremely light to carry around. Most of the hardware present in other Xperia phones is also present in the Mini Pro, despite its small size.

The phone uses an Android operating system, the v-2.3. However, this can easily be upgraded to v-4.0 for users who need an advanced OS. The phone also houses a 1 GHz Scorpion processor that is relatively powerful, in comparison to its net weight. Another amazing feature is the Adreno 205 Graphic Processing Unit that works extremely fast in creating images for display. In addition to this, the phone features an internal RAM of 512 MB plus storage space of up to 400 MB, which can be conveniently increased to 32 GB.

Many Xperia Mini Pro phones are capable of supporting the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade. This was made possible earlier in 2012, and it was a major victory for the company. Admittedly, a good number of Sony competitors have unsuccessfully tried to implement this capability. Users can conveniently switch to the Cream Sandwich upgrade. All you need is a PC and the Sony PC Companion Software. Simply connect the device to a PC and install the Android 4.0 using the Companion software.
